Morgan Melzer
Boone
County High School
Florence, KY

Morgan Melzer is a
graduate of Boone County High School in Florence, Ky. She
is attending Morehead State University in Morehead, KY.
Morgan has been playing soccer for 14 years, 6 years in high
school as a midfielder. She also played for the Cincinnati
Cardinals Premiere team, the Cincinnati Cardinals A Team and
the Northern Kentucky Crushers. Her soccer accomplishments
are many including Co-captain several years, District and
Regional Champs, High School Awards, Best Offensive Player,
All Tournament Teams, All Star Team Player and many more.
Outside of soccer she belonged to Fellowship of Christian
Athletes, Junior and Senior Boards, Women of Boone which is
a community service group, worked part-time, attended church
where she was involved with the youth groups, plus she was a
peer tutor helping in a special education class.
A quote from Morgan,
“The values from the game of soccer, are none of which you
learn from Webster or a school book. It’s a lifelong
development that can’t be taught, it has to be experienced.
Soccer has given me values which will make me a better
person in the future. Because soccer has been such a strong
fixation of mine as a child, the habited values will stick
with me in future endeavors. When my soccer career is all
said and done, it won’t be over; the values will stick with
me forever.”
Jarrod Willoughby
Larry A. Ryle High School
Union, KY

Jarrod Willoughby is a graduate of Larry
A. Ryle High School in Union, KY. He is attending Georgetown
College in Georgetown, KY. Jarrod has been playing soccer
for 14 years, 4 in high school as a center midfielder. He
also played for the Ohio Elite Soccer Academy, the NKYSA
Falcons and the NKYSA Sharks. A few of his soccer
accomplishments include Varsity MVP, Most Goals 3 Years,
Best offensive player 2 years, All District Team, 1st Team
All Region, Northern Kentucky Offensive Player of the Year
and 1st Team All State. Outside of soccer Jarrod attended
church, volunteered with community activities, he has been a
mentor to elementary and middle school students and has
helped run soccer and basketball camps for youngsters.
A quote from Jarrod, “Values I have
learned from playing soccer will go with me throughout my
life. The value of determination and persistence are
critical in life, leadership to help me lead and motivate
others to play at their top potential, and the value of
punctuality. The lessons and work ethic that have come with
playing the game of soccer will be invaluable to me in my
career and my life in general. Who knows, maybe someday I
will become a coach and I will be able to encourage some of
the same values in a younger generation.”
